Welcome to Lyra ("Lyra," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lyra mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using Lyra, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Lyra

Lyra is an AI-powered learning platform designed to help users explore, understand, retain, and connect knowledge through personalized learning experiences, interactive conversations, visual knowledge mapping, and related educational tools.

Lyra is intended for informational and educational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must:

• Be at least 13 years old to use Lyra.

• Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase subscriptions.

• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account.

You agree to:

• Maintain and update account information.

• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access.

You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Payments are processed through Apple's App Store or other authorized payment providers.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You may cancel at any time through your Apple App Store account settings.

Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not refund current billing periods.

Refunds

Refund requests are governed by Apple's refund policies.

We do not directly process App Store refunds.

5. Free Trials

Lyra may offer free trials.

If you do not cancel before the trial ends:

• Your subscription automatically converts into a paid subscription.

• Applicable fees will be charged through your payment provider.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any law or regulation.

• Attempt to reverse engineer Lyra.

• Interfere with system security.

• Scrape or harvest data.

• Circumvent subscription restrictions.

• Upload malicious code.

• Abuse, harass, or threaten others.

• Use Lyra to generate unlawful content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. AI-Generated Content

Lyra uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content.

You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated responses may be inaccurate.

• Information may be incomplete or outdated.

• AI responses should not be relied upon as professional advice.

You are responsible for independently verifying important information.

8. Educational Use Only

Lyra does not provide:

• Medical advice

• Mental health treatment

• Legal advice

• Financial advice

• Investment advice

• Professional certifications

Any information provided through Lyra is for general educational purposes only.

9. User Content

You may submit:

• Questions

• Messages

• Learning preferences

• Feedback

• Other content

You retain ownership of your content.

However, you grant Lyra a worldwide, non-exclusive license to:

• Process content

• Display content

• Improve functionality

• Deliver requested services

This license ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is legally required.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in Lyra remain the exclusive property of Lyra and its licensors.

This includes:

• Software

• Design

• Branding

• Logos

• User interfaces

• AI systems

• Educational content

You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

11. Availability

We strive to provide uninterrupted service but do not guarantee:

• Continuous availability

• Error-free operation

• Compatibility with all devices

We may:

• Modify features

• Remove features

• Update systems

• Perform maintenance

without prior notice.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms.

• Required by law.

• We reasonably believe your use creates risk for Lyra or other users.

You may delete your account at any time.

Termination does not affect accrued payment obligations.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LYRA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

• MERCHANTABILITY

• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE

• NON-INFRINGEMENT

• ACCURACY OF CONTENT

• RELIABILITY OF AI OUTPUT

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

LYRA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• INDIRECT DAMAGES

• INCIDENTAL DAMAGES

• CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES

• LOSS OF DATA

• LOSS OF PROFITS

• BUSINESS INTERRUPTION

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

• $100 USD

• THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LYRA DURING THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lyra, its officers, employees, affiliates, and partners from claims arising out of:

• Your use of the Service

• Violation of these Terms

• Violation of applicable laws

• Infringement of third-party rights

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated through:

• The app

• Email

• Website notices

Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
